Cofounder CLI

People

Find people who match a plain description, see the evidence for each match, and save the best ones to the CRM.

What People Search Is For

cofounder people search finds people from a description in plain words, like founding engineers at seed-stage AI startups. Use it for hiring candidates, prospects, and anyone your company wants to reach.

Each person comes back with the evidence for or against your filters, so you can judge fit yourself instead of trusting a score.

Searching

--query takes the description in plain words. --source picks where to look:

  • exa (the default): the people index.
  • github: top contributors to the repos you name with --github-repo. Free, but no work history.
  • x: people who recently posted about it on X. Charges real spend, up to $1 per search.

Filtering

Each filter flag gives every person a pass, fail, or unknown verdict with the value it compared. Nobody is dropped; unknown means the data was missing.

  • --title-keyword and --exclude-title-keyword: words in their current job title
  • --location: places like new york or brooklyn
  • --min-years-experience and --max-years-experience
  • --company-stage: seed, series_a, and so on
cofounder people search \
--query "backend engineers who write about streaming systems" \
  --source x --min-years-experience 4 --max-cost-usd 2

--max-cost-usd stops the call before it runs if the search would cost more.

Saving People

A person already in the CRM comes back marked, so update that contact instead of adding a copy. To save someone new, pass their identities to cofounder crm contacts upsert.
